Veterans Day Spotlight: Lee Ewing
by ELLIMAN INSIDER TEAM
November 2025
In celebration of Veterans Day, we invited members of the Douglas Elliman community who have served in the armed forces to reflect on how their service experiences have shaped their lives and careers in the real estate business.
Lee Ewing, Agent, Houston, Tex.
Please briefly describe your military service.
I am a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. I served as Platoon Sergeant – 4th Recon Battalion – 23rd Marines, 1967–1973.
In what ways, if any, has your service experience shaped the way you approach your life and career in real estate?
My mission statement: To live with honor and integrity and to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. This personal ethos is based on a foundation of trust, credibility and professionalism, and these are my benchmarks for success in daily life and business.
What would you like your colleagues to know or understand about your service experience and what it means to you?
Being a United States Marine signifies membership in a sacred and proud brotherhood with the motto “Semper Fidelis” (Latin for “always faithful”). Marines are trained to improvise, adapt and overcome all obstacles in all situations. It becomes an integral part of one’s persona in everything we do in our lives.
