About Jamie

Since 1972, broker associate Jamie Newton Barrere has been devoting 100 percent of her time to her love of real estate. As one of Houston’s most successful residential real estate professionals with a more than 40-year career, Jamie’s success is largely attributed to her ability to match clients’ needs to their ideal property, in addition to her excellent people and negotiation skills, and superior customer service.

Jamie assists buyers and sellers in virtually all of Houston’s best-known neighborhoods inside and outside Loop 610, as well as in suburban neighborhoods, master-planned communities and rural acreage. She also has an established reputation for successfully relocating corporate transferees and medical, legal and business professionals. As a testament to Jamie’s abilities, many of her clients have sought her assistance with multiple moves.

An Arkansas native with a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Arkansas, Jamie began her real estate career in Houston as the founding broker and president of Barrere & Co., Realtors®. She developed the firm into a top Houston residential and commercial real estate brokerage. After 18 years, Jamie sold her company to Zarr & Co., Realtors in 1996, which then merged with House Hunters, Inc to become Heritage Texas Properties in 1999. Jamie continued to manage the company’s world-wide relocation business. In 2002, she relinquished her responsibilities to the relocation department so that she could become fully involved in sales transactions for her friends, former clients and referrals.

As a top professional in her field, Jamie has been honored by Who’s Who in Houston Residential Real Estate, Who’s Who of American Women and Who’s Who in America. She has served as vice president of the Houston Association of Realtors, director of the Texas Association and on the Equal Opportunity Committee of the National Association of Realtors.
