New Hyde Park's residential streets feature tidy lots with capes, Tudors and colonials. The community is also home to Long Island Jewish Medical Center and a growing web of medical offices that have spread out from the hospital. The neighborhood has two parks, along with its share of restaurants, including the elegant Inn at New Hyde Park, which is also a wedding venue, and the Olde Trading Post, a cozy tavern in a 150-year-old building that once housed New Hyde Park's first general store. Straddling the Queens border, New Hyde Park is a quick jaunt from Manhattan aboard the LIRR and is convenient to major highways.
