Ferdinand Schmitt has a unique background in Long Island agriculture. Since he was 10 years old, he worked on his family's farm, F&W Schmitt's Family Farm in Melville. Through his farming experience, he has had opportunities to work with many contractors and homeowners on beautifying their homes with sod and flowers, which sparked his interest in real estate.
Personable and honest, Ferdinand's top priorities as a real estate agent are to provide first-rate service, simplify transactions for his clients, and ensure they trust that he will do what's in their best interest. He does this with his unshakeably down-to-earth demeanor, by making himself reachable at all times, and with a willingness to go above and beyond.
As a fifth-generation farmer who supplies turf grass to properties from Queens to Montauk, Ferdinand has a firm grasp on the Long Island real estate market. He has expertise in land purchases and foreclosure deals and can walk his clients through the steps that are different from a regular closing.
In addition to his real estate career, Ferdinand is the operations manager at Schmitt's Family Farm where he oversees the cultivation and sales of 130 acres worth of turf grass, flowers, and vegetables, and the expansion of the farm's entertainment including u-pick pumpkins and its annual Halloween haunted house.
Ferdinand grew up in Melville, and currently lives there with his wife, their four children, ten chickens, and two dogs. In his personal time, Ferdinand is somewhat of a handyman who likes to build and fix things. He's also an avid sports fan and enjoys the games of poker and chess.
