Taber Hall was built in 1880 by Marion’s most renowned benefactress Elizabeth P. Taber, for her most important creation, Tabor Academy. Originally used as her own home (2nd fl), and the residence of the school’s first headmaster (1st fl), this impressive Italianate building was moved in 1937 from Spring St to its current location. Thoughtfully restored down to the studs c.1999, this well-built home offers dramatic living spaces with modern day systems, all while holding on to its old-house charm, so-much-so it has been the recipient of various historic preservation awards.
