Veterans Day Spotlight: Cesar “Ces” Guerra

by Elliman Insider Team

November 2023

In celebration of Veterans Day, we invited members of the Douglas Elliman community who have served in the U.S. armed forces to reflect on how their service experiences have shaped their lives and careers in the real estate business. Cesar “Ces” Guerra, Real Estate Agent, Houston, Texas Please briefly describe your military service.     I served in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division from 1977 to 1981. I was a paratrooper serving directly in the A307th Medical Battalion, supporting the infantry and artillery batteries. That time period was immediately after the Vietnam War era, and it was a time of great transition with respect to public views of the military. In what ways, if any, has your service experience shaped the way you approach your life and career in real estate?     The military instilled in me a sense of discipline that has carried through my entire life. It guides my approach to working with clients and the attention to detail required in providing exceptional service. The military training also helped me develop leadership and tactical traits that are advantageous in working with a diverse array of clients. My sense of duty, honor and country is always at the forefront of my mind. The oath I took still resonates within me, much like the Code of Ethics we follow as luxury residential realtors. Most importantly, it is the servant’s heart approach that I embrace and aspire to achieve with each and every one of my clients, both sellers and buyers.
