Why are you spending time on the Upper East Side?

I live and work here. When I went to buy an apartment, I knew I could choose anywhere in New York City. I decided that the Upper East Side best fits my personality.

What do you think makes the Upper East Side quintessentially New York City?

You can have historic brownstones and you can have Central Park in your backyard. At the same time, you have upscale boutiques, renowned restaurants, and the world-class museums. You cannot find that together in any other place.

“You can go from quaint, cozy cafes to Michelin-star restaurants.”

What are some other appealing attributes to the Upper East Side?

For me, it combines elegance with accessibility all in one place. I’ve been all over the world. It’s very hard to find those two things combined. What’s even more impressive is that you have unique neighborhoods inside of it.

Do you have a neighborhood routine?

I love strolling around Yorkville. Second Avenue, and Third Avenue, they have some of the best restaurants. You can go from quaint, cozy cafes to Michelin-star restaurants. Where else in the world can you find that?

Why do you think the Upper East Side continues to find new residents?

It’s the only place in the world where you can mix all of these qualities that you want in a neighborhood with the accessibility. This is one of the most walkable areas in the world.

Do you have any personal recommendations that you’d like to share?

One of my favorite hobbies is to go to new restaurants. Le Veau d’Or just reopened and it brings such a beautiful nostalgic feeling to the Upper East Side!  I also like Rafael. It’s a new Mediterranean small-plates place on Lexington Avenue.

Is there anything that you hope everyone knows about the Upper East Side?

I think I am a typical example of someone who came from overseas and found a place to call home on the Upper East Side. It is so much more than a posh neighborhood.
