Agent Spotlight: Georgia Kaporis, Inspired by the New York City Skyline
by Elliman Editors
December 2020
For Douglas Elliman agent Georgia Kaporis , her passion for real estate began in her youth, inspired by the New York City skyline. Elliman Insider sat down to find out everything from what advice she has for new agents to how Elliman has changed her business plan.
Elliman Insider: When did you know that real estate was your calling?
Georgia Kaporis : It was a dream come true to unite my love of New York City architecture and living spaces with the ability to help everyone find a perfect home. My passion for real estate started in my youth. I remember the energy I felt when I would see New York skyscrapers and buildings and thought why aren’t more areas being developed just like New York? It’s incredible to help an individual or a family find and move into a home. Home is where your day starts and ends daily. It’s where you spend time with your loved ones. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
EI: What’s your biggest challenge as an agent ?
GK: M y biggest challenge as an agent is that some customers have internet information overload syndrome which can result in confusion for them. Sometimes information may be in bits and pieces and not in context. I love a good challenge. I enjoy keeping my customers current, up to date, and informed regarding the state of the market.
I am exceptionally thorough and always available for questions. I equip my customers with organized information, perspective and most importantly I always listen to their needs and wants. I want them comfortable and prepared so that they can make informed decision with confidence.
EI: Do you live by a personal mantra or favorite saying?
GK: Always love what you do and it will lead to success!
EI: Why did you choose Elliman?
GK: The list can go on and on, but in short Elliman is nationally recognized and well respected . They support their agents and understand we are their customers. They make the back end a bit easier so that all my attention can be on building relationships with clients and finding them the best home.
EI: How Elliman changed your business plan?
GK: It definitely opened my plan up to more opportunities and allowed it to evolve into a true entrepreneurial plan. Having Howard M. Lorber and so many top agents around gave me real examples of successful entrepreneurs.
EI: How has Elliman upped your real estate game?
GK: My mindset shifted and I started focusing on bigger goals, thinking outside the box, and began to take advantage of the huge network of referral-based agents. Not to mention the technology and full top-level support I receive, Douglas Elliman has positively upped my game.
EI: Any advice for new agent s?
GK: First, be flexible, be prepared and listen. The New York City real estate market is constantly changing and you have to adapt very quickly to changing times. And second, t hink outside the box.
EI: Where can we find you when you’re not working?
GK: Especially during Covid I like to surround myself with love which means you can always find me with family and friends o f course while social distancing and with a mask.
