By Grace Cassidy In 2011, five years into a burgeoning real estate career with stints at Sotheby’s International Realty and Urban Sanctuary, Aran Scott decided to forge a new path by cofounding a boutique brokerage called Space Marketing. That same year, Anthony Robles was only just starting out in real estate when he joined Space Marketing and his path converged with Scott’s. Aran Scott “Aran was impressive,” Robles recalled. “I sensed his hunger to not only work hard, but also to become very successful.” Over the next several years, as the firm grew to more than 30 agents across offices in Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island City and north of $500 million in sales, Scott and Robles worked closely together until 2018, when Douglas Elliman acquired Space Marketing and The ScottRobles Team was born. “Both of our individual businesses were growing year over year, so it just felt like a no brainer to combine the names and officially launch,” Robles recalled. Now, with sales volume in excess of $1 billion, the Brooklyn-based team has been ranked Elliman’s #1 team in the borough by gross commission income (GCI) and among the top 50 teams nationwide by sales volume. With an ethos of discipline and dedication—summed up by Scott as “work harder than everyone else, and success is sure to follow”—the team combines deep experience in the Brooklyn market with comprehensive full-suite service. “We’ve been doing this a long time, and we know the markets really well,” said Scott. “With experience comes the ability to do this job easier and avoid pitfalls—getting an apartment prepped, listing at the right time, learning how to negotiate. All of that comes with practice.” Anthony Robles Clients can also expect truly white glove service from the team of agents and assistants and its network of trusted contractors, stagers, movers and attorneys. The combination of market insight and full-spectrum service has earned them strong repeat and referral business and steady sales volume, even amid the recent economic slowdown. “The lack of inventory has kept home prices afloat, even with interest rates at levels we haven’t seen in over 20 years,” Robles said. “I believe the market will continue to feel the impact because of low inventory and higher interest rates for at least another year.” And Brooklyn, they add, will continue to be a vital market. “There is still a large percentage of buyers moving to Brooklyn for their first time,” Robles said. “It is no longer just the second choice” to Manhattan, Scott added. And just as he anticipates the Brooklyn market will continue to grow, he sees a similar outlook for The ScottRobles Team. “There is a lot of room for growth and hitting new plateaus in this career,” Scott said. “A lot of interesting things come with the job, and it’s one of the most financially rewarding careers you can have. I also happen to enjoy it.”
