Andrew Anderson’s rise to the Top 5 at Douglas Elliman was rapid, and he is one of the longtime leading brokers in the New York City new development market. With Bruce Ehrmann, Andrew is a founding partner of The Anderson-Ehrmann Team, which is one of the top teams at Douglas Elliman in New York and nationwide.
Andrew has led the successful sellout of over 800 units and ten new developments over the past 12 years, in addition to hundreds of resales and buy-side transactions, totaling more than $1.5 billion in sales. He has transacted in every neighborhood in Manhattan and many in Brooklyn.
Andrew is currently finishing sales at 565 Broome Street SoHo, which is Renzo Piano’s first residential project in the United States, with a projected sellout of over $750 million.
Most recently, he represented PMG and Madison Equities’ 10 Sullivan Street, the Cary Tamarkin-designed 20-unit condominium in SoHo, and RAL Companies and Oliver’s Realty Group’s Quay Tower at Brooklyn Bridge Park, whose penthouse sale of $22.75 million is the highest in the borough.
As lead marketing agent of Bizzi Partners’ Tribeca development, The Leonard, at 101 Leonard Street, Andrew sold all of its 66 units, with over 85% in contract in the first 12 weeks. The Leonard opened the gateway for luxury new development in eastern Tribeca. Andrew also completed sales of CBSK Ironstate’s Selldorf Architects-designed Reade Chambers, at 71 Reade Street in Tribeca.
Andrew’s first development work was as on-site sales director for Cape Advisors and Andres Balazs’ One Kenmare Square, at 210 Lafayette Street, in 2005. Following his unprecedented success in what had been considered the outskirts of SoHo, Andrew went on to introduce 76 Madison Avenue, in NoMad, to the market with an overwhelming reception. In 2006, this pre-War loft conversion was only the second development of its kind in this area north of Madison Square Park, which has since become one of the most expensive and desirable areas in the city.
From NoMad to Murray Hill, Andrew assumed the role of sales director of LCOR’s The Charleston, at 225 East 34th Street, in late 2006. Concurrently, Andrew launched sales at The Chelsea Stratus, at 101 West 24th Street, Chelsea’s tallest residential building and one of its most prestigious condominiums. Its 201 units sold out in approximately 16 months at the highest price per square foot in the neighborhood.
In 2009, Andrew took over sales at 254 Park Avenue South, launching a new marketing campaign that doubled the pace of sales. He then took command of sales and marketing at Bizzi Partners’ The Residences at 400 Fifth Avenue, for which he and his team received the 2011 Douglas Elliman Award for Most New Development Sales Volume.
Originally from Philadelphia, Andrew moved to New York after graduating college to pursue a career with the Secret Service. While looking to purchase his own home, Andrew became fascinated with the New York real estate market and all of the city’s diverse neighborhoods, and instantly immersed himself in it.
