Award-winning agent Valerie Portny has excelled in real estate since 1987 and has spent the last 25 years with Douglas Elliman. She has been an award-winning residential sales specialist (including Platinum, Gold and President’s Circle Awards for her outstanding sales performance). Valerie has sold a range of properties, from established, traditional co-ops to elegant townhouses, to luxurious new hi-rises. She has a stellar reputation for her vast market knowledge, keen sense of people’s needs, and ability to introduce clients to options they may not have considered thanks to her experience and intuition. Caroline Portny Beshara grew up alongside her accomplished real estate mother Valerie as a New York City native. After a lengthy career in finance, Caroline returned to her true love, real estate, joining Elliman in 2018. Her business background and investment savvy are invaluable in matching buyers with their dream homes. Caroline holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from Middlebury College. She was Managing Director at Bear Sterns on a #1-ranked institutional investor team, and head of marketing/investor relations at various hedge funds. This innate listener and problem-solver handles every detail and negotiates skillfully for her clients, to alleviate stress and ensure the best outcomes. In addition, Caroline runs her family’s holding company which invests in real estate developments throughout the U.S. Among them are several NY-area multifamily projects, and the Thomas Jefferson Tower in Birmingham, Alabama, a multifamily building in an Opportunity Zone her group developed in 2013.
