FISKE TERRACE
A detached Victorian with a garage or driveway and a backyard on a peaceful tree-lined block is an unattainable dream in most of New York, but not in the tiny central Brooklyn enclave of Fiske Terrace. The neighborhood originated as a planned community at the turn of the 20th century. Apartment buildings have replaced some of the original houses, especially on Ocean Avenue, but many remain, complete with original details like built-in shelves and beamed ceilings-along with updated amenities. While Fiske Terrace is essentially residential, shopping and dining abound in nearby Midwood.

This former planned community is now a repository of stunning Victorians; yards and driveways are not rare.
Largely residential, so not the most active nightlife√πwhich is how locals like it
Not much shopping or dining in the neighborhood, but Fiske Terrace is adjacent to bustling commercial areas.
