“Omotenashi” – to provide genuine service and hospitality from the agent’s heart with honesty, and anticipate a client’s needs before they may be personally aware, is a Japanese philosophy which Daniel attributes as a core motivation for his rapid success in Real Estate.
Even amidst record-low inventory and multiple offer scenarios, Daniel has a track record of obtaining an accepted offer on well over 90% of all offers submitted on behalf of his buyers. He recognized from the very beginning the significance of working with a referral only-based clientele. The privilege of working selectively has allowed him to devote the care and attention to his buyers’ needs which is paramount. Daniel also emphasizes that a well-structured offer is composed in the terms rather than the overall purchase price, saving his clients from unnecessary expenses. What’s more, his circle of lawyers, lenders, contractors and architects have allowed him to anticipate any seller’s counter with qualified advice from reliable experts.
Residing in Rockaway Beach with his family, he takes great pleasure working in residential sales from Suffolk County to the 5 Boroughs. As a lifelong surfer, ocean lover and advocate for ocean conservancy, Daniel’s clientele has largely revolved around coastal New York. Whether you seek to sell or purchase a seaside home in NYC or greater Long Island, it is likely he knows a client or agent eager to meet you on the other end of the closing table. From luxury condos with an ocean view to a charming historic bungalow, or Queen Anne Victorian steps from a surf break, his community has something for everyone.
Daniel believes his role as an agent, or rather, as an advisor and confidant, is to empower his clients, both domestic and international, to make the most educated investments. Guiding a seller through the process is very private and personal, requiring an incalculable amount of trust between homeowner and agent. Anticipating the sentimental aspects of a home sale is as relevant as protecting the financial interests of the client, he feels. In a sellers’ market, it is vital to know the contingencies that could jeopardize the sale, as offers above-asking in a hyper-competitive market have become the norm. Daniel obsesses over a solid listing strategy, and if necessary connects his sellers with top contractors and interior designers to maximize their sale potential and minimize days on the market.
Born in Japan and raised in Southeast Asia, Daniel moved to Wisconsin’s Northwoods at age 15. He studied Classic & Ancient Roman History at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, then got a scholarship for a final semester in Italy. Daniel lived and worked in Florence for 5 years as a Student Advisor, and enrolled in a Master’s program through Middlebury College in Vermont and Universita degli studi di Firenze in Florence, earning an M.A. in Italian Poetry. He was in project management as a crew lead for installation as a contractor for commercial spaces in NYC and North America for luxury brands like Chanel, Christan Dior and Christian Louboutin, and a beverage director in a 2-Michelin-star chef’s table in Tribeca flawlessly meeting clients’ needs. Daniel is also a certified surf instructor, and operates a seaside woodworking studio, creating bespoke furniture pieces in his free time.
