About Melody

Melody Hooker is originally from New Mexico where she grew up as the daughter of an Air Force Colonel and entrepreneurial mother whom both prioritized investing in real estate. In this environment she learned discipline, sharp business skills and the art of negotiation.

In 1992 she moved to Virginia to study Art History, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from George Mason University and also a Certificate in Appraisal Studies from The George Washington University. She gained her experience working in a number of prominent art galleries and art consulting firms in the DC area and went on to run her own art appraisal business.

In 2008 as the mortgage crisis sent shock waves through the art market Melody moved her focus to real estate. Her appraisal skills served her well in assessing the true market value of properties. She then went on to invest in rental properties gaining experience in property management.

Over her 30 year residency in Virginia, Melody has called a number of areas home and enjoyed learning the special features and attractions of each, including: Fredericksburg, Manassas, Falls Church, Alexandria and McLean. Melody currently resides in McLean with her rescue dog, Ash.
