WAINSCOTT
With its centuries old churches and its historic farm houses, Wainscott still retains some indescribable essence of a time when it had its own Main Street, its own school, and its own post office. In fact, it still has all of those things, even if there are only a handful of children in the school and the only shop on “Main Street” is a farm stand. Still, this tiny hamlet strikes the balance between historic charm and natural beauty, with the ocean breezes of the south shores shipping across the farm fields and into the open windows of the perfectly restored historic homes.
