THE ARCHITECT
C.P.H. Gilbert erected this stunning fifty foot wide Beaux-Arts limestone mansion in 1902-1994 for Stuart Duncan, the crowning achievement of a series of superior structures he designed for his illustrious client list. THE HISTORY
Stuart Duncan was a member of the family firm of John Duncan & Son, so fine architecture must have permeated the air. In 1912, Duncan built a palatial estate known as Bonniecrest in Rhode Island overlooking Newport Harbour, as well located as 3 East 75 Street is to Fifth Avenue and Central Park. Duncans estate in Roslyn, Long Island, was designed by McKim, Mead & White.

THE MANSION
