A seasoned professional with more than twenty years of experience, Bill Begert specializes in brokerage operations with an emphasis on better process conception, project management and communications.
He joined Douglas Elliman in California in January 2018, following a long tenure at New York-based brokerage Corcoran. He came to Corcoran in 2000 as an executive assistant to the CEO, but his role in the executive office grew to encompass so many tasks that he was named the company’s Director of Corporate Affairs in 2004, and Vice President of Field Operations in 2009.
Bill joined Corcoran after a successful career in contemporary art. He worked for two of the world’s most significant private contemporary collections – first as a curator for the Peter Norton Family in Santa Monica, CA, and later as director at the Rubell Family Collection in Miami.
A military child who has lived in a dozen states, Bill was born at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware and studied art history at The College of William and Mary and the University of California, Los Angeles. When not at work he can be found pursuing his interests in contemporary art, cinema, tennis, and tournament bridge.
