We’d like to share a little story about this house…

This home has been so much more than just a place to live- it has been filled with connection, joy, and truly special moments. It has hosted many musical gatherings, filled with laughter and songs, creativity, and unforgettable time with friends and loved ones. It's also been a place where my mom hosted and cooked so many delicious meals bringing family, friends and community together again and again. Don’t worry, we got a new stove and dishwasher put in so you will have a fresh start!

Originally built in 1952, this home was purchased by my parent’s in 1983, and then completely gutted and renovated in 2004—taken down to literally the front living room and office and thoughtfully/mindfully rebuilt by hand. That level of care and craftsmanship is something you can sense throughout, giving the home both functionality, character and peace of mind.

My dad was a realtor and the kind of person that crossed every “T” and dotted every “i” so when this house was designed, he knew what to do to make this house functional so that every inch of the home had purpose and intention. So from the moment you enter, the home offers a welcoming and refined first impression, while the back of the house opens into a more private, relaxed space. Accompanied by a gazillion windows, you will never be without natural light. It may look small on the outside, but it’s mighty on the inside.

The sunroom is vibe y’all -filled with windows and skylights, it’s perfect for quiet mornings, gatherings, games, coffee/tea, plant sanctuary (orchids LOVE this room btw) the list of possibilities are endless. My favorite time to be in there is while it rains. And when it storms omg it’s epic! The thing I’ll miss the most is the sound of the rain on the skylights while drifting off into a nap. My mom’s favorite spots were the deck and the front porch. There aren’t a lot of houses in city of Fairfax that have a line of pine trees across the street. So when you relax with a cup of tea or coffee on the front porch, you can have a nice view, and also people watch! And in the winter, it smells like Christmas.

In other news, we’ve also invested over $70,000 in thoughtful and quality upgrades to enhance the home's beauty and functionality, all with care, intention and quality of craftsmanship to make it even more enjoyable and longer lasting for its next owners.

Set in the heart of Old Town Fairfax, it offers a rare balance of safety, tranquility and connection. You don’t realize how convenient and easy it is to live here, until you live here. There is little to no maintenance on this house other than mowing the little back yard and weeding the side yard so you don’t have to spend an entire day or Saturday on housework. Instead you can walk to the farmer’s market, or brewery or coffee shop with your dog or get tacos from señor tequilas! Or take the metro into DC! This location is like literally in the middle of it all. You are 20 mins to all the cities in every direction.

So in conclusion and more than anything else, this has been a home filled with so much love. We are so grateful for the time we've spent in this home, and it means a lot to us to share a little of its story with you.
