Michael Frontera: Building Bridges Between New York City and the Jersey Shore

When Michael Frontera moved his family from New York City to New Jersey during the pandemic, he wasn’t leaving the city behind. He was creating something bigger.
A lifelong New Yorker and veteran real estate professional, Frontera joined Douglas Elliman’s Fair Haven office with a vision: combine the sophistication, speed and deal-making experience of New York City with the growing opportunities emerging throughout Monmouth County and the Jersey Shore.
In the years since, he has built a highly diversified real estate business spanning residential, commercial, investment and development properties from Manhattan and the Bronx to Atlantic Highlands, Sandy Hook, Neptune and beyond.
“I’ve always believed that real estate is a people business first,” says Frontera. “Whether I’m in Manhattan or Monmouth County, I approach every conversation the same way — with honesty, clarity and a commitment to helping people achieve their goals.”
That philosophy has helped him cultivate relationships across multiple markets and asset classes. Among his recent transactions, Frontera represented Shore Christian Church in its $2.9-million acquisition of a former Social Security Administration building in Neptune.
Known for his relentless work ethic and hands-on approach, Frontera spends much of his time traveling between listings, client meetings and investment opportunities throughout New York and New Jersey. Whether by car, ferry, e-bike or on foot, he is constantly looking for ways to create value for his clients.
One example is a 6,100-square-foot commercial property he currently represents in Neptune, situated at a highly visible intersection with more than 50,000 vehicles passing daily.
“It’s a phenomenal location,” Frontera says. “The possibilities are endless — retail, medical, convenience, service-based businesses. My job is to identify the highest and best use and connect the property with the right tenant or buyer.”
His strategic approach extends beyond brokerage. Frontera routinely advises owners on renovations, repositioning strategies, leasing opportunities and ways to maximize property value before bringing assets to market.
Despite his growing footprint in New Jersey, Frontera remains deeply connected to New York City. He continues to represent buyers, sellers and investors throughout Manhattan and the Bronx, recently closing transactions ranging from luxury residences to multi-million-dollar commercial assets.
For Frontera, however, success isn’t measured solely by sales volume or transaction size.
“It’s about helping people make meaningful moves in their lives,” he says. “Whether it’s a first home, a growing business, an investment property or a major development opportunity, I take that responsibility seriously.”
Nearly two decades into his career, Frontera’s enthusiasm remains as strong as ever.
"Being a real estate broker isn't just a business to me. It’s a way of life and I genuinely love it,” he says. “Every day brings a new challenge, a new relationship and a new opportunity to help someone move forward. That’s what drives me. And I feel like I’m just getting started."
