About Scott

With almost two decades of experience in real estate, Scott Comer, Manager of Sales in Douglas Elliman’s Dix Hills, Long Island office utilizes his full understanding of the art of selling real estate to motivate, train, educate and develop agents’ skill sets to help them achieve business and personal goals. He imparts his knowledge onto sales agents to guide them through navigating current market trends, successfully marketing a property, using company technology and negotiating a deal.

Scott’s noteworthy real estate career has included roles as a top-producing agent, trainer, director of training and education, regional branch manager, branch manager, and now, manager of sales. As a manager, Scott prides himself on being transparent, factual, experienced and relatable. He enacts and values a mentorship style of management, and has a firm belief of being well prepared and organized, which he credits to his culinary school background.

Beginning his real estate career in 2004 as a Douglas Elliman agent, Scott’s career took him to another brokerage from 2010–2021, but he happily rejoined Douglas Elliman in his current sales manager role in July 2021. Making Douglas Elliman his home again was an easy decision for Scott who finds the company’s structure, professionalism, reach, standout marketing and overall expertise in the real estate industry to be a perfect combination and fit for him.

Prior to embarking on his real estate career, Scott was in catering and convention sales management with Doubletree Hotels and a general manager for Holiday Inn Hotels. He then moved on to be a general manager of a luxury high-rise apartment building in Jersey City, New Jersey for the nation’s largest property management company, which introduced him to a career in real estate. These roles instilled in Scott a foundation for managing people and understanding property aesthetics, and ignited his passion for training and developing multi-faceted positions.

A Smithtown, Long Island native, Scott now resides in Lake Grove, Long Island. He holds an associate’s degree from culinary school in upstate New York, and a bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management from the University of Houston, in Houston, Texas.
