Gigi Huang

One of Houston’s most recognized & respected restaurateurs, Gigi Huang
independently & together with her father, James Huang, developed 8
restaurants in the course of her 38 years in the Hospitality Industry. Her
experiences in building restaurants from the ground up in the most coveted
commercial retail spaces in Houston. Most importantly, Gigi is known for her
great customer service, hearing & understanding the customer’s expectations
therefore delivering a positive experience for everyone.

Gigi’s father, originally from Shanghai, immigrated the family from Taiwan
to United States in 1969. They sett led in Houston where she graduated from
Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart & attended the prestigious Hilton
College for Hotel & Restaurant Management at the University of Houston.

After many years in Houston’s restaurant community & the city’s brick-and-mortar
development, Gigi moved into luxury residential real estate sales
with Douglas Elliman Real Estate. “My understanding of business principles,
customer service, & finance are of immense value to my clients. I also have
something less tangible but perhaps even more important: an innate sense of
elegant living & style that helps me to guide my buyers & sellers in the most
affluent neighborhoods in Houston such as River Oaks, West University, Rice-
Museum, Tanglewood & Memorial.”

Gigi has an impressive resume of philanthropic service. Her awards &
recognitions include accolades as diverse as the Cancer League, Pacesetter
of the Year Award 1993, Houston Chronicle Best Dress Hall of Fame 1994,
Houston Jaycee’s Five Young Outstanding Houstonian Award 1995, American
Associates of Ben Gurion University, David Ben Gurion Award 1997, YWCA-Volunteer
of the Year 2000, Assistance League of Houston-Mary Jo Peckham
Award 2001, Houston Delta Gamma Foundation, Women of Vision, 2003.

She has also served on boards of organizations such as The St. Joseph
Hospital Foundation, The Houston Museum of Natural Science, The Houston
Ballet Foundation, advisory board of (Houston) UNICEF, appointed by the
Mayor of Houston to Downtown District Board, The Houston Parks Board &
The Houston Zoo Development Corporation. Gigi currently sits on the board
of directors The Christus Health Foundation. “I love giving back to this city
