1Q - 2012 Manhattan Rentals

Report Summary

Manhattan rental prices continued to rise, largely due to a combination of tight credit and an improving regional economy. Landlord concessions were limited and rent per square foot reached its highest level since the beginning of the credit crunch three-and-a-half years ago. Properties rented quickly with limited discounts from list prices. Based on what we have seen this year so far, we anticipate the rental market continuing at this pace for the next several quarters.
