About Me

Originally from Los Angeles, Tamer has called herself a New Yorker for seven years now. After a fast and furious start in real estate as Douglas Elliman's Manhattan Rookie of the Year, she has now become the New York real estate columnist for the Wall Street Journal website Market Watch. Tamer's passion for real estate was first inspired by her mom Deedee Howard, a partner at The Agency in Beverly Hills and one of Wall Street Journal's "Top 200 Real Estate Professionals."

Tamer views herself as a trusted advisor and collaborator who knows the importance of diligence, loyalty, and insightfulness. Known for going above and beyond for her clients, she relies on her can-do attitude and sense of humor to get the job done. She understands both the business side of investment as well as she does the emotional side of buying and selling homes. Whether you are buying, selling, or both, Tamer strives to make it a fun and exciting process to which her clients always look forward to doing.

Before diving into the real estate business, Tamer began her career in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles. In her youth, she was the "spokes-girl" for Grandma's Cookies and Polaroid Cameras, where she served alongside James Garner. She was also the #1 nationally ranked Equestrian Show Jumper as well as the Jr. Hunter Champion at Madison Square Garden. Tamer transitioned to work behind the camera as a voice-over agent representing celebrity talent such as George Clooney and Bryan Cranston. Subsequently, she produced a number of award winning independent films which screened at the Sundance, Toronto, and Tribeca film festivals.

Tamer comes from an accomplished Manhattan family beginning with her grandfather, Frederic Drake, who was publisher of Harper's Bazaar and VP of Hearst. Her aunt, Pamela Turnure Timmins, was a renowned interior designer in Manhattan who earlier served as Jacqueline Kennedy's press secretary both during and after her time in The White House. Tamer is also the niece of O. Burtch Drake, former president and CEO of The Advertising Association of America and an Advertising Hall of Fame inductee, as well as Fred Drake, an aerospace engineer at NASA who was instrumental in the first manned moon landing. Tamer's father, Bobby Howard, is a former thoroughbred racing Jockey who began his racing career at Belmont Park and during his career rode in the Kentucky Derby, among other prestigious races.

Tamer sees her background as a film producer and casting director as the perfect preparation for real estate, casting new homes for buyers and producing sales for sellers.
