Joseph Baker moved to New York City to pursue studies in Near-Eastern archaeology. He then graduated with an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Columbia University's Graduate School of Business. He knows Manhattan inside and out.

Upon getting his real estate license, his sales experiences have run the gamut: from office buildings, multi-family residential buildings, blocks of residential apartments, loft buildings, and homes running the gamut, ranging from studios to 14-room apartments on Park and Fifth Avenues, from townhouses on the Uptown and Downtown to an 8,000 sq.ft. condominium downtown. He has also rented a great many Manhattan apartments, including notably the triplex penthouse at 1009 Fifth Avenue, as well as a 4,000 sq.ft. Tribeca penthouse with 3,100 sq.ft. of outdoor spaces.
