About Me

Catherine Godbille Koechlin

Catherine was born in Paris and attended the University of Nanterre in France, later relocating to the United States, where she studied business and law at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Catherine began her innovative business career by making the most of her bilingual education. She founded and served as the president of International Language Experts, a Southfield, Michigan translation company that served the needs of General Motors and Midwestern law firms among others. Following her tenure at ILE, she served as Vice President of Bowne International and Managing Director of Bowne Translation. For Bowne, Catherine launched offices in key financial cities throughout the world in order to provide top notch financial printing services and financial and legal document translation.

Catherine incorporated a lifelong interest in architecture and civil engineering into her career when she decided to launch her business in real estate sales. Before joining Douglas Elliman, she spent four years working with another high profile real estate company in New York City, where she specialized in luxury residential listings on Manhattan's Upper East Side. In addition, she represented buyers and sellers across the United States and internationally, including in Greenwich, CT and Montana, on Nantucket and St Barth's, in Bora Bora, France, and Tuscany.

Catherine's exceptional business experience, consummate negotiation skills, and talent for executing high level deals have made her a top real estate broker. Her consistent focus on the big picture while maintaining scrupulous attention to detail, as well as her integrity and discretion, are the essential elements of her success. Catherine's high personal and professional standards have earned her the trust and loyalty of clients and friends everywhere.

A prodigious fundraiser, Catherine chaired the Lycee Francais de New York in its Annual Fund campaign, and helped increase their coffers from $300,000 to $1.4M. She raised funds for the organizational alliance YRF Darca (formerly Youth Renewal Fund) in order to build a school and provide innovative education for disadvantaged students in Israel. Being engaged with New York City is very important to Catherine. Catherine is involved with Change for Kids, where her husband is the foundation's chairman; CFK provides resources to enhance literacy, art, health, and other programs to more than 3,000 students at eight schools across New York City. She is a member of the Central Park Conservancy, which raises funds to enhance and maintain Central Park. She is on the Advisory Committee of the Paris American Club of New York, and has begun exploring an alliance with the American Hospital in Paris Foundation based in Manhattan.

A longtime resident of Manhattan's Upper East Side, Catherine, her husband, Nicolas Koechlin, and their two sons also spend time at their country home in South Salem, NY. She enjoys gardening, tennis, horseback riding, and entertaining.
