About Me

Alexander Peters joined Douglas Elliman in November of 2009 after stints at Brown, Harris, Stevens, Sotheby's International Realty and Warburg Partners. In 2001, Alexander set a new Upper Westside record with his sale of the Penthouse at The Prasada for $12.8 million and was honored by the Real Estate Board of New York at the deal of the Year dinner. Also in 2002, Alexander set sales records at two other buildings (262 Central Park West and 215 West 90th Street).
In the last several years Peters has set sales records at 50 Central Park West, 80 Central Park West, 322 Central Park West, 444 Central Park West and 45 East 9th Street. His last townhouse sale at 139 Lexington Ave. was for $250,000 over the asking price. A recent sale at 320 Central Park West was for 5% over the asking price as a result of a bidding war he engineered. Peters almost doubled the previous sales record at another recent sale at 182-4 Grand St., where he sold the 4,000 ft. Penthouse. Peters' most recent East End of Long Island sale was for $50,000 over the asking price after a 5 person bidding war at 269-271 East Lake Drive in Montauk.
Alexander grew up at 635 Park Avenue. He also lived at 141 East 72nd Street, 580 Park Avenue, 18 Christopher Street, 473 West End Ave., 322 Central Park West and 320 Central Park West. Alexander attended Allen Stevenson, Middlesex and Stanford. After a career in journalism, including stints at The Nation and CBS, Peters ran startup ventures while based in Amagansett, where he still maintains a home.
Mr. Peters is the President of Amagansett-Springs Aquifer Protection, a groundwater protection group in East Hampton. He is on the board of the New York League of Conservation Voters. He is an avid equestrian and for many years was on the Northeast and Long Island Jumper circuit. Peters started both the Grandmasters and Great Grandmasters' divisions in the sport of Ultimate Frisbee and every year his East Hampton tournament is the highlight of the Grandmaster's division. He scored the winning goal of the 1999 World Championships for the New York Master's team he was the captain of, Cigar.
