MIAMI BEACH, FL (May 6, 2016) – Douglas Elliman announces the addition of Martha Pomares as Managing Broker of the firm’s Coconut Grove office, located at 2950 SW 27th Avenue, and the Brickell office, located at 1200 Brickell Bay Drive, Suite 106. In her new role, Pomares will oversee all office operations including training and motivating existing and new sales agents, and implementing new recruiting and retention strategies. These efforts will aid in the growth of the company and help achieve and exceed production goals.
Pomares joins the Douglas Elliman team with more than 27 years of experience in the real estate industry. Prior to her current position, she served as operations manager at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Realty in Coral Gables. During her five-year tenure, she achieved productivity on average 130% above the budget goal. Previously, Pomares ran the New Image Realty Group where she was an Owner and Broker for seven years. It was in this role that she made a name for herself and became known in the community as a builder of practices and closer of deals. Home to more than 30 sales associates, her boutique firm generated average sales of $25 - $30 million and was sold to Prudential Florida Realty in 2010. Pomares began her real estate career and spent a majority of it at Arvida Realty, now known as Coldwell Banker, as a realtor associate then as a broker associate. She was noted often for her production during her 15-year tenure, and was eventually recognized at the top 2% producer in the nation.
“It is an honor to welcome this seasoned real estate professional to the Douglas Elliman team,” said Jay Phillip Parker, CEO of Douglas Elliman’s Florida brokerage. “Pomares is regarded as a leader in the industry who is not only dedicated to the business, but excels at everything she does. She is exactly the type of person we have been looking for and are proud to officially welcome her aboard.”
Committed to the real estate community, Pomares’ passion shines through in all that she does. She has been an active participant in the Miami Association of Realtors since she began her career in 1989, serving as president in 2009 and chairman in 2012. She has also been a member of the National
Association of Realtors since 1989 and has served as director since 2009. She is a member of the Professional Development Committee, and has been since 2004, and was appointed as chair in 2014 where she served for one year. Her work has given her the opportunity to travel the world educating professionals in Brazil and Europe to foster the growth of the real estate industry.
“I am honored to be joining such a prestigious company and look forward to becoming an integral member of the thriving team,” says Pomares. “I love what I do and feel fortunate that I have the opportunity doing what I am most passionate about. My career has shaped where I am today, allowing me the privilege to pay it forward by teaching and motivating others in the business.”
Born in Cuba, Pomares’s family immigrated to Mexico when she was five. At 12, her family moved to Miami where she has resided ever since. Married and a proud step-mother to two, Pomares began her career as a single mother. Pomares’s son currently resides in Miami as a practicing commercial litigation attorney. She recently obtained her real estate instructor’s license to educate realtors all over south Florida.
