Union Square

While often compared to Times Square for its convenience as a commuter hub and the multitude of activities in Union Square Park, this area exudes far more charm, and its central location, bordered by Chelsea, Gramercy Park, and Greenwich Village, only adds to the allure. Many buildings ringing the park are historic landmarks, often occupied by young families and students from NYU and The New School. The legendary farmers market offers produce destined for many of the neighborhood's eateries, and shoulder-to-shoulder shops on Fifth Avenue have created a convenient retail corridor, while a district of home design stores and showrooms has sprung up on the side streets.
