Brendan Brown has always been passionate about real estate, and thrives on the excitement of finding his clients their dream homes and apartments. He began his career in investment property management at age 19, renovating apartment buildings and personally designing apartments at 21, and started his own boutique real estate brokerage in Newport Beach, CA when he was 23. He worked with his former business partner who was an attorney and CPA, allowing him to develop and hone a variety of skills that allows him to provide full service knowledge to his clients.
In 2018 Brendan set his sights on New York City, and the premier name in real estate, Douglas Elliman. Backed by the strongest brokerage in the business, and the best resources at his disposal, he provides unparalleled access when it comes to locating the perfect properties for his clients’ needs. His tenaciousness, and his “you don’t get what you don’t ask for” mentality has only further provided his clients and colleagues the best experiences, opportunities and results.
Always be closing, is how Brendan thinks. But it is his clients’ best interests that are always at the forefront of his mind in any deal. He believes in educating people about the market, while guiding their expectations to realistic options, all within the parameters of all of their needs and budgets. Chelsea, Hudson Yards, Soho, Nolita, The Bowery, and the Lower East Side are among his specialized and favorite neighborhoods. His expertise and experience on the other hand, encompasses all of Manhattan and in all price points.
Joining the company with an already vast social media following, he attributes this to being the creator of the popular men’s fashion and lifestyle blog, Mr. BGB. He has held his own personal contributor platform on Huffington Post, written for GQ and Men's Fashion Post, and is a GQ, Mr. Porter, and Travel + Leisure Insider. Having collaborated and worked with many fashion and lifestyle brands, publications, and companies; he is often seen as one of New York's men about town. In mixing his real estate skillset along with his social endeavors, Brendan has always maximized his connections. In doing so, he has built a vast network around the globe, serving both his domestic and international clients with a precision skillset.
An avid world traveler, Brendan traveled to over 29 countries before he turned 30, further making Douglas Elliman’s partnership with Knight Frank a perfect match for him and his worldwide network. His love of travel is what brought him to South Africa in 2012, on a volunteer trip that would change his life. Every year since, he has returned to South Africa to work hands on with the lion population and the African Lion Conservation in their efforts towards the conservation of lions in the wild.
Since relocating to New York City, Brendan was asked to join the board of the Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer Research as a founding member of their Young Professionals Committee. The following year he became one of the chairs of the foundation. They host both the Midsummer Angel Gala (which he spearheaded the launch in 2019 to massive success), as well as the foundation's and New York's iconic Angel Ball each year. He is actively involved with the AIDS Walk Foundation (both New York City and Los Angeles), God's Love We Deliver, and the Central Park Conservancy.
Born and raised in Newport Beach, CA, Brendan holds a degree in Finance from Chapman University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Currently residing on the High Line in Hudson Yards, his entrepreneurial-minded, creative, and innovative thinking is what has enabled him to continue to provide his clients with the best service possible. Holding dual licenses with Douglas Elliman in both New York and California, Brendan is quickly becoming a bi-coastal force to be reckoned with.
