Since 2013, either individually or as a member of the Holly Parker Team, Melanie has ranked either as #1 or #2 by gross commission income. She has also been a "Top Ten" agent from between 2009 until 2012 out of over 7,000 agents at the company. A real estate professional for over 20 years, she has earned nearly every top honor at Douglas Elliman including the Legend Award and is in the top 1% of real estate professionals nationally. Consistently ranked as one of the top brokers in Manhattan, Melanie is in the business of providing full-service brokerage. Recognized as an industry powerhouse, Melanie has broken several records in real estate – most recently for selling the most expensive apartment ever sold in the history of Downtown, the penthouse at 18 Gramercy Park for $42,000,000. With that sale she broke her own previously set record for the sale of the Superior Ink penthouse for $31,500,000, in which she represented both sides of the deal.
Melanie has been regularly featured on television, including NBC’s LX Open House, CNN, Extra, and Access Hollywood, and she has been nominated for an Emmy for hosting “Foundations” on Cozi TV - an educational program about historic New York homes. She has also been featured in print, in publications such as the New York Times, The New York Post, the Wall Street Journal, Gotham Magazine, Architectural Digest, the New York Observer, and Details Magazine, where she was the only woman named in their article on the “New Rock Stars of Real Estate.” This warm, welcoming, and dedicated professional puts people at ease immediately, and helps guide them through their transactions with her sound market knowledge and guidance on everything from finding a mortgage broker to finding a moving company.
Since 2016, Melanie has proudly joined forces with the Holly Parker Team. The team is a multi-cultural and multi-lingal group with fluency in seven languages which includes MBAs, JDs, and an in-house marketing and in-house graphic design team which can help buyers and sellers 24/7 with everything from studio apartments to large new development projects.
Organized, intuitive and results-oriented, Melanie has a strong background in marketing and interior design. She graduated from Chaminade University of Honolulu with a BA in Historical and Political Studies and has worked as a public relations and marketing executive for the Pacific’s largest public relations firm in Honolulu. Her incomparable marketing, customer service and detail oriented skills have been a great asset throughout her career and followed her to Paris, where she studied French at the Sorbonne and handled public relations for Polo Ralph Lauren Europe. Born in London, Melanie lived in Sydney, Australia and in Santa Monica, California before moving to Manhattan in 2000.
In addition to being a long-standing member of the Real Estate Board of New York, Melanie is also a member of Who's Who in Luxury Real Estate. Melanie also serves on the boards of assistants for the Mayflower Society of New York, she serves as a board member on the Day School Committee at the Brick Church School, and she is an an active member of the Junior League of New York. Enjoying city life with her family is her daily routine yet traveling to places far and wide is always appealing when time allows.
