Irene Simon

“Experience is the best teacher.” As an associate broker, who has been at Douglass Elliman since 1990, Irene Simon believes in the message. Specializing in Upper West Side and East Side condominium and cooperative apartments, Irene has a full working knowledge of the buildings in these neighborhoods. In addition, she maintains a strong sales presence throughout Manhattan and Riverdale.
As a people person, Irene cares about people and is devoted to finding the most suitable home for each customer. When working with buyers Irene is extremely patient and understands the emotional journey one takes when buying a new home. She understands the needs and desires of her buyers.
In representing sellers, as their exclusive agent, she works tirelessly at marketing, showing and selling their apartments. She’s a skilled negotiator with over 31 years’ experience brokering successful deals.

As an active volunteer, Irene has served on the boards of several schools and institutions including the YM-YWHA. Her academic achievements include a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Education and credits in a Master’s program. She is a former teacher of speech improvement in the New York City school system.
