Sobre Peter

Born into the vital, high-energy atmosphere that is only New York City, Peter Schwartz still greatly enjoys the excitement, challenges and opportunities inherent in both living and doing business here. Former founder and partner of Peter*Ashe Realty, a boutique shop specializing in high-end sales and leasing throughout Manhattan, he reached the top of his game running this premiere real estate company for nearly a decade. At Douglas Elliman, he partners with his wife Sheryl and remains a top producer. In 2005, after less than two years with the firm, the couple earned the #1 spot in the 2nd quarter for the entire Prudential network and membership into the prestigious Pinnacle Club as one of the top 15 agents in the company. They closed more than $60 million in sales during 2005, and have continued their record of excellence in 2006 and 2007, again as one of top producers in the company.

Peter’s extensive knowledge of the market and real estate industry is truly uncanny, as is his ability to effectively handle people and situations of all types. His keen business and negotiation skills and outstanding results for clients on both sides of a transaction are respected throughout the real estate community. Along with Sheryl, he shares a sound entrepreneurial background and solid commitment to best uphold the interests of everyone he serves. Peter and Sheryl have completed a wide range of real estate transactions, from high-end sales and rentals of townhouses, coops and condominiums to retail leasing transactions include the New China Fun Restaurant on East 64th Street. Peter has also brokered the sale of development property such as The Gay Men’s Health Crises Center on 19th Street and a hi-rise rental project sold to Rockrose Development at the South Street Seaport.

A graduate of Boston University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Peter gained financial insight working for a brokerage firm on Wall Street, and honed his fine talent for management over the next 20 years growing the family-owned electrical manufacturing business which he subsequently sold to a Fortune 500 company. In between making multi-million-dollar deals, Peter and Sheryl enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren at their home on the North Fork, and playing golf whenever possible.
