What is the definition of hospitality? It is the quality or disposition of receiving and treating others in a warm, friendly, knowledgeable and generous way … it also defines who Ray is as a person and how he has approached life and relationships. Ray began his career at one of the most prestigious family owned and operated resorts in the Catskills. He learned the importance of meeting customer expectations and paying attention to every detail, no matter the task. His responsibilities were wide ranging - from nightclub manager to reservation systems design and hotel real estate expansion. He was eventually recruited by the world famous Waldorf Astoria, where he fined tune his negotiating and listening skills – knowing and understand his customers’ needs have always been his top priority.
In later years, he continued to focus his efforts on real estate support, sales and client servicing. He was a National Accounts Manager for a major hotel franchise for over 20 years. Transforming his housing and hoteling experience into an opportunity to help others, Ray and his team developed a state of the art reservations system deployed in support of our Armed Forces. He travelled the world to make sure each installation met his clients’ needs. He takes great pride in helping others.
As a third act in life, he joined the not-for- profit arena and was instrumental in smart home design and construction for his community. He is a long time Fire Island resident. He has served as the Treasurer of the Cherry Grove Community Board and is well known for his generosity of spirit and humanity. He is always there when you need him.
