Carl Lindvall

Carl Lindvall is a true island original. Born and raised on Nantucket, he brings inherent knowledge of the island – with all its wonderful charms and quirks – to Douglas Elliman's office in the historic downtown district. What's more, he is related to several of the original proprietors of Nantucket. Spend any time at all there, and you'll become familiar with the names of his ancestors: Coffin, Macy, Swain, Starbuck, and Gardner families, to list a few.

Carl grew up in the real estate business. His mother was the principal broker of an island agency and continues to be active in the real estate business in the Turks and Caicos. Shortly after graduating from college, he moved back to Nantucket where he met and married his wife and jumped into the “family business.”

As entrenched as he is in the island, Carl has an impressive record of success. Nantucket frequently makes national headlines with record-breaking sales and it is in this fiercely-competitive market, where the median home price is in the multi-millions, that he has made a very recognizable name for himself. In 2021, he was on the buy or sell side of 21 properties (a dollar volume of more than $32 million), with an added $12 million in construction contracts. In addition, he listed, marketed, and sold 31 out of 32 building lots in a new residential development in ‘Sconset on the island's eastern shore.

Carl possesses the insider knowledge about all things Nantucket that he willingly imparts to his clients to help them make informed decisions – whether they are buying, selling, or making a real estate investment. What's more, he understands the complexities of negotiating and transacting real estate on the island, which has strict design guidelines and complex zoning bylaws.
