Brookville Real Estate

The village of Brookville has a storied history, dating back to the purchase of the land for the village from the Matincokcs tribe in the mid-1600's to its formation in stages as an actual village.

Brookville was incorporated in two stages, the first taking place in 1932, with the rest of the village gaining incorporation in 1990. The small village is home to just over 2,000 people, as well as the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University and the nationally renowned Tilles Center, a cultural venue.

The village is tucked with the town of Oyster Bay, and it has the added distinction of being named by Business Week as own of the wealthiest towns in America. This is due in a large part to its nature as a bedroom community, since it offers easy access to both the industrial businesses on Long Island, as well as being only a short distance from Manhattan.

There are many sites of interest in Brookville, including the St. Joan de Arc Chapel, which was dismantled and brought here from France. It is located on the grounds of Marquette University. The James Preserve located in Old Brookville offers a glimpse into the past and functions as one of the few nature preserves in the immediate area.
