Fort Lauderdale, the county seat of Broward County and part of the Miami metro area, Is at once a major hub for business and a top resort destination. Its nickname "The Venice of America" tells you that water is never far away: the city is blessed with seven miles of beautiful white sand beaches and an extensive network of canals and waterways accessible via water taxi and pleasure craft. The city is a major yachting destination and hosts the yearly Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
