“No request is too small or too large,” says Gary Goodwin about interacting with clients. “Everyone is demanding and it’s my job to fulfill those demands to the best of my ability.” As a long-time resident of Palm Beach, Gary is very familiar with the local real estate market and specializes in luxury residential properties in the community, as well as in the El Cid and Prospect Park areas of West Palm Beach.
His training in interior architectural design and years of experience at the architectural, urban planning, and engineering firm of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill have given him a unique perspective on space planning and remodeling. “I’m able to see a room and almost instantly envision how it can be shaped to suit the client's wishes and needs,” he says. “And thanks to my years of designing and remodeling houses and apartments to help clients realize their dreams, I'm highly adept at staging properties to show them to their best advantage.”
Gary began his career at Skidmore’s Chicago offices, later becoming an advisor to the city’s department store retailer Montgomery Ward, and subsequently relocating to Palm Beach, where he launched and for many years ran a successful design business. “As a Realtor® myself now, I've learned I need to be on call and available to clients 24/7,” he says of his transition to real estate. “But that’s not a problem for me, because I love to help people and share my talents.”
Gary grew up in Cleveland, Tennessee, and graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Design Architecture and Art. He and his life partner, Gael, who has been a real estate agent for 30 years, currently divide their time between homes in West Palm Beach and Washington, Connecticut, where they stage an annual benefit that has raised more than a million dollars over the past 19 years for an AIDS organization and a local museum.
