As a resident of Miami since 1960, Eileen has a deep reach into the community. As president of Eileen Nexer Communications, she wrote speeches, coordinated credentials for the White House Special Guest Services for the Summit of the Americas, and other high-profile events. As the first Executive Director of the Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade County, she grew it from a small grass-roots organization into what is now one of the largest women’s funds in the nation by giving it high media visibility and connecting to local leaders and professionals. She subsequently was the Community Liaison and Co-Chair for the Girls Advocacy Project, where she brought national attention to issues of girls in the juvenile justice system. She has been a local, state, and national speaker, and has periodically contributed to The Miami Herald, state and national publications.
