Garret Lepaw has worked in all facets of real estate, from the legal side to the sales end, to high-end management positions. As Executive Manager of Sales for Douglas Elliman’s 111 Fifth Avenue and Waverly offices, he capitalizes on his unique combination of skills and knowledge to empower and inspire his agents at NYC’s #1 brokerage firm. Prior to joining DE, Garret spent 11 years at The Corcoran Group and was recognized as a top agent. He then worked at TOWN Residential, as a Project Manager in New Development as well as a Sales & Leasing Director (who more than doubled the revenue generated by the office).
Garret believes that providing a hands-on management style and a thorough education is a key component of advancing his agents’ careers, particularly in the ever-changing New York City real estate market. Staying on top of trends and being tuned-in to your client’s needs is imperative to success for a service professional and is what he instills in his talented team. By stressing respect, teamwork and collaboration, and always maintaining a good sense of humor in his office, Garret strives to create a friendly, positive open-door culture and a seamless professional yet fun working environment. “Happy agents are the most productive agents.” This, he feels, is essential to ensuring the best productivity, service and results.
A cum laude graduate of Boston University, Garret majored in hotel and restaurant management, and went on to receive his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. He is admitted to the New York State Bar and is a former practicing attorney who specialized in real estate, construction, environmental and litigation. Complementing his invaluable legal expertise is his seasoned financial insight and experience gained previously as an equities trader on Wall Street. Garret additionally honed his business and tech capabilities as VP of Shopping.com, where he was responsible for developing one of the very first mobile apps.
Currently residing in the Financial District, Garret loves NYC and its diverse neighborhoods. When his management hat is off, he enjoys spending time with his family, motorcycling, bicycling along the Hudson, gourmet cooking for friends and family (BBQ ribs and homemade liqueur are his specialties), and playing electric guitar.
