Real Estate Agent

Sobre Mickey

Mickey Knickerbocker may have small town roots, but this sophisticated Douglas Elliman Agent truly became a citizen of the world. Born in a small farm town in south-central Iowa, her life began with an emphasis on honesty, hard work, and excelling at school. When she was a teenager, her family moved to the Los Angeles area, and Knickerbocker spent most of her adult life in Manhattan Beach.

Knickerbocker became a real estate agent in 1988, just as the market was peaking. After 28
years of up markets and down with the leading brokerage in Manhattan Beach, she moved to
Teles Properties in 2016. Knickerbocker chose Teles because of the support that they provide
to agents to help make their clients successful in reaching their real estate goals. In 2017 Teles and Knickerbocker joined the prestigious firm, Douglas Elliman.

Over the years, she says she has had “many wonderful experiences,” especially now at Douglas Elliman. Knickerbocker has made a career of being deeply involved in real estate. As a volunteer for the local South Bay Real Estate Association, she chaired the Education Committee and the Political
Activities Committee. She was honored to receive the REALTOR of the Year Award from the
Association. Knickerbocker also served as Committee Chair to President of the Southern
California Chapter of Residential Specialists, which fosters education and best practices for
REALTOR members - only 3% of the nation’s realtor have earned this designation.

Knickerbocker also holds the Certified International Property Specialist designation.
One of her favorite and most rewarding assignments was as President’s Liaison to
Latvia. During her five year term, she visited the country twice to meet and work with their real
estate association, teach a class there and meet their members.

All the while, Knickerbocker counts herself fortunate to have lived and worked in Manhattan
Beach, and counted the South Bay as home. “It is a dynamic market place requiring an in-depth knowledge of inventory as well as a tried and true process to deliver the highest possible results,” Knickerbocker says.

The beach is a long way from the mid-west, but she still loves reading and music as much as
she did as a little girl, as well as the small town feel of Manhattan Beach while being close to
every cultural and educational opportunity anyone could ask for.
