Report Summary

Apartment availability remains limited, but the pace of rising rents showed some signs of easing this month after the strong showing of the past year.  Furthermore, the luxury rental market continued to show rising rents that outpaced the gains of the overall market.  New rentals surged above  levels a year ago as tenants tried their luck finding a more affordable rental than what was offered at renewal. Over the coming months we expect tight mortgage lending conditions and an improving economy to keep upward pressure on rents.
