In 2005 I began my search to fulfill a life long dream to purchase an apartment in Manhattan. I went to open houses every weekend and met countless brokers who promised the world, but when my opinion differed from theirs, they lift me adrift. Then one very fortuitous day I met Leonel Piraino at an open house on the East Side. We spoke at length, and for the first time I felt that someone was listening my needs and respecting my views. Unfortunately, for personal reasons, I had to temporarily put this search for an apartment, but Leo would call from time to time just to ask how things were going. When I actively resumed the search, Leo was by my side. I can’t even recall how many apartments we viewed. Leo was always patient, professional, and never tired.
At the end of 2005, I finally found the ideal apartment. It was the perfect size, the price was within my budget, and I could not ask for a better location. Leo patiently helped with the paperwork that, at times, became daunting, facilitated some of the renovations that I wanted completed before I took possession, and stood by me whenever problems arose. I do not believe it would have been possible for me to have achieved my dream if I had not met Leo on that fortuitous Sunday afternoon.
