About Me

Question: What’s most important in real estate: location, a fireplace, light, or a school district?
Answer: Actually, whether they’re selling or buying, most people say price is most important.

Sellers and buyers who want the best price seek out Lorraine Iannello. For example, when she represented one seller, Lorraine negotiated multiple offers, resulting in a closing price of 15 percent above the asking price. In another case, when she represented a buyer, Lorraine saved the buyer more than 15 percent off the asking price.

Lorraine is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York and the managing editor of Barnes and Noble Basics: Buying a House, which includes selling tips such as which renovations increase resale value. More than having a grasp of numbers, Lorraine is an unusually warm and intuitive person with an engaging sense of humor that immediately puts people at ease during the roller coaster that is the real estate process.

Lorraine’s enthusiasm, generosity, friendliness, energy and ability to listen earn her repeated business and word-of-mouth referrals. Lorraine’s sunny disposition draws sellers and buyers and earns their immediate trust. Those same traits won Lorraine her office’s sunshine award and an award for giving back because she raised money through Prudential Douglas Elliman for the Sunshine Kids, a charity that sends young cancer survivors with messages of hope to newly diagnosed children and their families.

Lorraine has helped people sell condos at Lincoln Center near where Wynton Marsalis lives, and townhouses in Woody Allen's Upper East Side neighborhood, as well as downtown apartments in Battery Park and uptown near Bette Midler's New Leaf restaurant at 190th Street and Broadway. Lorraine specializes in the Upper West Side which is also where she lives with her husband, Paul Palazzo, at the Ansonia at 74th and Broadway, just up the street from her office at 68th and Broadway. Lorraine is a native of Philadelphia, and a graduate of Temple University where she earned a degree in communications. Lorraine worked previously as an editor, writer and producer. Lorraine’s work has appeared in Barnes & Noble's book publishing division; MSN - the Microsoft Network; Oxygen; Newsweek; and various newspapers.

Lorraine's previous experience as a writer, reporter and editor for books, newspapers and magazines helps sellers and buyers when it comes to powerful marketing and highly personalized offer letters. Lorraine remembers what it was like trying to find the right agent to sell her mother's home in Philadelphia, one who would return calls, listen and represent her mother's best interests. Lorraine's motto is "You deserve attention," because as Maya Angelou says, "people will forget what you say and forget what you did but they'll never forget how you made them feel."

Lorraine is past president of the BNI Wall Street Chapter 15, a networking group based on the belief that "Givers Gain." Lorraine has also served as president of the Sesame Toastmasters Club and treasurer of the national Journalism and Women Symposium.
