Melanie Lazenby, a real estate professional for over ten years and an Executive Vice President, has earned nearly every top honor at Douglas Elliman including the Legend Award, the Top Grossing Broker company-wide, and is in the top 1% of real estate professionals nation-wide. She was also the 2nd highest grossing broker out of over 3,000 agents at Douglas Elliman in 2011. Consistently ranked as one of the top brokers in Manhattan, Melanie is in the business of providing full-service brokerage. Recognized as an industry powerhouse, Melanie has broken several records in real estate – most recently for selling the most expensive apartment ever sold in the history of Downtown, the Superior Ink penthouse for $31,500,000, in which she represented both sides of the deal. Featured on television on NBC’s LX Open House and in publications such as the New York Times, the New York Post, the Wall Street Journal; Gotham Magazine, Architectural Digest, and the New York Observer, this warm, welcoming, and dedicated professional puts people at ease immediately, and helps guide them through their transactions with her sound market knowledge and guidance on everything from finding a mortgage broker to finding a moving company.
Today, at Douglas Elliman, Melanie works one-on-one with buyers in finding their ideal home, and serves sellers in partnership with accomplished fellow agent, Dina Lewis. Together, the team with over twenty years of combined real estate sales experience provides exemplary full service to sellers, maximizing every sale with their impeccable marketing and negotiating skills. Melanie and Dina have achieved over $1.2 billion in sales and they have sold apartments in some of the most notable buildings in Manhattan such as The Time Warner Center; Superior Ink; Artisan Lofts; 21 Astor Place; The Greenwich; 260 Park Avenue South; 240 Park Avenue South; Trump Park Avenue; 25 West Houston; The Chatham; The Chelsea Mercantile; The Urban Glass House; The Brompton; and The Sherry-Netherland to name a few - often achieving record prices per square foot. Highly intuitive, organized, and results-oriented, Melanie has a strong background in marketing and interior design. She graduated from college in Hawaii with a BA in Communications and has worked as a public relations and marketing executive for the Pacific’s largest public relations firm in Honolulu. Her incomparable marketing, customer service and organizational skills have been a great asset throughout her career and followed her to Paris, where she studied French at the Sorbonne and handled public relations for Polo Ralph Lauren. Born in London, Melanie lived in Sydney, Australia and Santa Monica, California before moving to Manhattan in 2000.
In addition to being a long-standing member of the Real Estate Board of New York, Melanie is also a member of Who's Who in Luxury Real Estate. Melanie also gives to her community as a Young Advocate for the Human Rights Watch, a volunteer for New York Cares, and an active member of the Junior League. Enjoying city life is her daily routine, yet traveling to places far and wide is always appealing when time allows.
