About Me

Irene Nickolai began her varied professional career that spans over fifteen years both in the profit and non-profit sectors. Ms. Nickolai owned and operated a contemporary art gallery in the then emerging Chelsea arts district. She also co-founded the Scope Art Fair which has since expanded to New York, Miami and Basel, Switzerland and produced more than 40 solo and group exhibitions, including 5 large scale public installations, working in association with international consulates, foundations and corporate clients.

In the past 10 years Ms. Nickolai has worked in the luxury residential and commercial Real Estate markets. She began her Real Estate career at a New York Business Group, a boutique Real Estate firm in NYC with a roster of international clients. She was then at New York Commercial Realty Services, working on development sales in NYC and abroad.

In 2008, she founded Stratus Realty Group in Tribeca, which grew to include agents in Miami, Moscow, Monaco and London. Their exclusive property list extended from the United States and Caribbean to locations across Western and Eastern Europe. She was the principal broker and President, and was actively involved in all areas of the company's direction including business development, branding, and recruitment.

In 2012 Stratus Realty Group joined Douglas Elliman as the Nickolai Group. Ms. Nickolai is responsible for developing the Group's strategic direction; overseeing day-to-day operations, affiliate brokers, as well as formulating growth strategies. She is a key leader in building, evaluating and pursuing investment and capital opportunities. She has extensive experience in all areas of real estate, business management and marketing. Irene's magnetic personality and market savvy make her an adept facilitator.

With the team, Ms. Nickolai's focus is to support and foster teamwork by creating strategic partnerships amongst agents and provide a strong platform for maximum results for both clients and associates.

Ms. Nickolai is also on the Board of Directors of Time In Children's Art Initiative. Time In: brings children out of underserved classrooms in Harlem and the Bronx into the world of art every week of the school year, as part of their regular school day. Alternating opera through hands-on studio art with gallery hops and museum visits.
